Donation Tips

We appreciate receiving donations. However, we ask that you please be mindful of what you donate and the condition your donated items are in.

The asylum seekers that we serve deserve respect, dignity, and humanity. If you are considering donating used clothes to us, please review these following tips:

Donation Dos and Don’ts to Consider

go through all clothes carefully

If you are donating used clothes, please make sure that articles have no rips, tears, stains, excessive pilling, pet hair, or foul odor.

Divide clothing by age & season

Given that we provide clothing for asylum seekers that are traveling to colder areas of the country, we do sometimes accept out of season clothing. ¹

Wash all items prior to donating

It is unnecessary to dry clean these items, but they should at least be freshly washed.

Prepare donations for delivery

We ask that you fold items and box/bag them, ready for delivery.

Donate practical/requested items

Items such as t-shirts, jeans, comfortable pants/shirts, casual dresses.

Donate via Amazon, Venmo, PayPal

Please consider donating requested items via our Amazon Wish list, or giving a monetary donation via Venmo or PayPal.

Do not Donate impractical items

Items such as formal dresses, sports coats, dress pants/shirts, blazers, high heels. ²

Do not donate intimate items

No used undergarments, hosiery, lingerie, or bathing suits.

NO USED TOILETRIES OR MAKEUP!

Only new and unused items.

 

  1. In general, we ask that you stick to seasonal clothing/items.

  2. Please consider donating these items to local organizations that assist individuals returning to the workforce after homelessness or incarceration.
